"I was admitted to ward G3 on Friday ..."

About: Whiston Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was admitted to ward G3 on Friday 22 August and discharged today (25th). I found that every single member of staff was extremely pleasant, polite, patient and professional.

They made me as comfortable as possible and always kept me informed as to what was happening with my treatment.

As this is only the second time I have had to be in hospital my experience is limited but if in the future I unfortunately have to be admitted to a hospital then Whiston woud be my preference.

What could be improved

There is little if anything that could be improved on this ward.

Having no experience of other wards on the hospital I am unsure if they all operate in a similar way. If they do then Whiston ought to be applauded for the standards of it's care.

Although I could not eat or drink for over 24 hours this was not the fault of staff but the circumstances that developed. Athough my surgery had been planned for earlier in the day an emergency arose that meant it had to be put back. Although it would have been easy to cancel my slot until the following day the operating staff remained on duty in order to complete my operation.
