God, where do I start with this circus? The catalogue of disrespect and bufoonery that I encountered there is too vast to detail. Perhaps the nadir though was being told by a doctor when questioned about why she had failed to formulate a proper diagnosis of my condition, that I had not offered her enough information. Forgive me, but is it not the job of the consultant to ask the relevant questions to isolate symptoms? Communication between employees and departments is appalling, the attitude of staff is abismal, and the formulation of any type of coherent plan on how to treat individual patients appears to be non-existent.. I was seeing the afore mentioned psychiatrist for a year before she referred me to a therapist. Even completion of the simplest of tasks proves to be an act of hurculean proportions for this lot. I am aware that in these times of austerity, morale within the NHS is at an all-time low and I sympathise to some extent. However I do not think that basic care and support for those who find themselves in extremely vulnerable states of mind are too much to ask.
