"Good care at QMC Fracture Clinic"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

After sustaining a fracture to my wrist whilst in Italy, I was offered an operation or manipulation and plaster immobilisation. I chose the latter, as I was to attend my son's wedding the following day. The procedure was carried out without any form of anaesthetic, and an above the elbow plaster cast was applied. On my return home, I saw my GP and, the following monday, I was seen at the Queen's Medical Centre's Fracture Clinic and operated on. The care I received throughout was excellent. Everything was fully explained to me. All staff (consultants, nurses, physios and domestic staff) were very friendly and paid careful attention to the cleanliness and hygiene of the ward.
