My father died. I tried for 3 days to cancel a physio appointment as I felt so low but could not for that whole time get through either to the physio reception or via the main reception or via other departments. As you can imagine, I had more important things to think about at this time but still I tried to do the right thing and free up the appointment for someone else. When eventually I did get through to someone (day 4), I was told that as I had not turned up for my appointment or tried to cancel it, I had been discharged from the physio's books and my case referred back to my GP! If I wanted the physio treatment I would have to start again from scratch. All very stressful at a time when I could have done with some support. I hope with the new refit they've got a better phone system in this hospital which I would not recommend for physio appointments.
