The Trust spoke to the family at the time and explained that all such requests are considered by the ward sister on a case by case basis and decisions are made based on a range of factors, including ward capacity, dependency of patients, facilities available, etc. The family were offered the opportunity for the decision and circumstances to be reviewed via the complaints process.
