I returned home after 10pm from Yorkshire late one evening in October. As I travelled I had a worsening earache.
There would be no surgery at my local GP until Monday. I eventually was in so much agony I called Shropdoc and after an academic discussion that "no one had ever died of earache" I was grudgingly offered an appointment by the doctor on duty at 2am. A short while later I was called up to tell me the appointment had been put back to 4am - something more important had arisen.
At that time I could hardly hear the phone ringing and in fact the return call awoke my wife upstairs in bed, who brought the phone to me, even though I was sitting downstairs a short distance from the phone.
I believe that if the matter had been properly dealt with by Shropdoc I would have suffered 48 hours less agony and correspondingly less hearing loss and I'm still plagued with tinnitus 8 weeks later and still awaiting consultation with a specialist and a hearing test. I believe that the Shropdoc level of service to be a travesty of their mission statement.
