Was taken to Stroud General Hospital by very good paramedic when I gashed a leg badly at home and was bleeding considerably. Was treated immediately in A & E by kindly, efficient and very skilled nurse, who did a brilliant job of steri-stripping the gaping would together in a most beautiful lattice (a pity no-one else could see it!); she was also friendly, cheerful and reassuring, which helped to allay my anxiety and shock (as an older person living alone this meant a great deal). A check back there the next day and subsequent excellent, attentive care by GP and lovely practice nurse, means that what could have become a serious wound has now (twelve weeks on) almost completely healed with only minimum scarring. Am profoundly grateful for such first rate care little more than a mile of my home.
"Speedy, appropriate A & E care"
