"staff & care"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

The staff were all really good and kind, but you could feel that the staff where short staffed as far as fully qualified nurses go, one person had to wait over 5 hrs for a dressing to be seen to as there was not a fully qualified nurse to deal with the situation (leaking drain leading to lady being soaked down to her knees in fluids, drain needed checking and dressing changed). Basic care, medication, cleaning and meal times, drinks and bed changing all ran smoothly.

Dear Sir/Madam Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of care at North Tyneside Hospital. It is so lovely to read your description of care that was delivered to you in an efficient and timely manner. Also, that the staff gave you the reassurance of being both compassionate and skilled in the care they provided. We would never want any of our patients to feel that they were on a ward that was not adequately staffed. I would really like respond to your comments regarding the availability of qualified staff on the ward you were on. However, this is quite difficult without knowing which ward this was. I would really grateful if you could provide with this information by me emailing me at Joanne.Mackintosh@northumbria-healthcare.nhs.uk This will allow me to give you a more detailed response. Best Wishes Jo
