I went into hospital today to have an ablation carried out to try to alleviate my SVT. I have suffered from palpitations for twenty plus years now. To say I was apprehensive about having the procedure done would have been an understatement. My consultant, what a truly nice compassionate DR I have had the pleasure of meeting within the hospital. I felt totally at ease and confident when I met him in clinic. The procedure was carried out today on the 3rd of January and I must say the team they had lined up from walking into the pre op ward right through to leaving were fantastic. I could not recommend the hospital or the staff any more highly. I had a different consultant today, but like my other one, they were superb.. I had never met them before and he came to my bedside before the procedure to ensure I was not only fully aware but furthermore to reassure and make sure I was fully informed what it entailed. I think it was more of a fear of the unknown with regard to my apprehension and all of this was unfounded. My only hope and the reason for writing this review is that it makes someone like myself feel less scared of having the procedure carried out and less likely to want to run out of the door before having it done :) A big thank you goes to all of the staff of the LGI including the admission staff ward staff and everyone I have seen in the cardiology dept as well as a big thank you for the sincerity of the DR for the way he treated me. People are always quick enough to complain when they have had a bad experience but not always as fast to compliment good staff when they receive a good service. Thank you and the kindest regards Phil
