Anything else?
Hello/ I have already an ongoing complaint about the treatment I recieved from diagnosis to treatment for neuroendocrene tumors/cancer from 2004 to 2013 but I shall not go into any more detail on that as it is still ongoing, I mention this so that people can read and understand that things can change for the better when the things that are wrong are brought to light and different people are brought in with the mind to correct failures and shortcomings wherever they are and whatever the cost financially or otherwise. Now to the point of my review,on the 3/01/2014 at 8-30am I attended elmsted day care at cgh for a colonoscopy, at 8-45am I was seen by a lovely nurse whom carried out various health checks and then showed me to my bed and gave to me clear detail of how much to dissrobe,at approx 9-15am I was taken to the procedure room by a staff nurse who was great and he stayed with me through-out the whole procedure. The nurse was also in the room and she too was wonderfull both of whom were very reasuring, my endoscopist was superb, as I did not want or indeed I did not have sedation he talked me through the whole procedure and of course I was able to watch the whole procedure on screen ( not every ones cup of tea but I found it reasureing) I was looked after and talked to every step of the way through-out the whole procedure after which I was able to go back to the ward and get up right away as I had no sedation, I was then invited to take a seat at the far end of the ward where I recieved toast, jam, and a most welcome cup of tea.I was able to phone my wife to come and colect me,whilst waiting my endoscopist came to see me and gave me a full report in writing of all that had been done and all persons that were present, now everyone involved in my care for that one and a half hours could not have done anymore for me and I thank each and everyone involved for there care/consideration that they all gave to me, it just goes to show that things can change for the better as I know they have in that department at least, so may that continue into the main part of the hospital well done elmstead day care and thank you for your help A.J.Paveley
