I went to Kingston A&E suffering from severe back pain. Already staff at the reception were very accommodating. I only had to wait a relatively short time for the initial assessment by a nurse. She immediately consulted with the doctor on duty and gave me additional medication to ease the pain until I could be seen by the doctor. As I had come in just before lunch, staff changed as their shift ended. The hand-over went smoothly and hardly noticeable at all. When the doctor came around for the assessment, she took great care to provide a thorough examination of possible nerve damage. She explained her findings very clearly and made it clear that an MRI scan would be required to find the cause of the problem. She gave helpful advice how to follow her initial assessment up with the GP. Altogether an excellent experience, with all of the NHS staff involved taking great care despite the very busy period.
"Excellent experience"
