"Care and compassion in current hospital stay"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I have recently had regular access to the maternity services at Tameside hospital.

Unfortunately they had to deliver bad news to me, from the minute they did this the care and compassion I was shown was second to none. I had an overnight stay on the labour ward and an awful/sad situation was turned into a bearable situation, which I did not think would be possible.

Their care and compassion allowed me to take comfort from the situation. I had two absolutely amazing midwives care for me 'Ann & Olwin'. They truly went out of their way to help myself and my husband.

Everybody I have dealt with has been an inspiration to their profession!

’Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved? Please contact John Goodenough, Director of Nursing at
