"Am I the first coeliac to give birth at this hospital?"

About: King's Mill Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

Following giving birth at Kings Mill Hospital I was, as is normal, offered toast to build back up some energy. I am however coeliac so asked for gluten free bread as I had gluten free meals whilst admitted.

I was told they didn't have any and as it was 2am they couldn't offer me anything else. I was very disappointed in this and in the hours following was unable to shower and had to be walked back to my bed due to not being able to get there myself.

I am sure that the lack of food had something to do with this. I don't believe that I am the first coeliac to give birth at this hospital so what happens normally?
