"DRI - shoulder clinic - different doctors and lots of waiting for tests"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I have been attending Doncaster Royal Infirmary as an outpatient for about a year and i am not impressed with the service there.

I suffered a shoulder injury in september 2005, The problem i find is that everytime i attend an appointment it is with a different consultant who i then have to spend time explaining the problem over and over again, i had to wait three months to see a consultant and then wait another two months for a ultrasound scan which came back normal. I am now in a situation where i am waiting for an M.R.I. scan which i have been told could take three months, in total i have had over a year off work which has resulted in me losing my job because it is manual work i can`t do because of my shoulder i`ve been in alot of pain and suffering as well. My GP has told me the injury could require surgery.

Another problem at Doncaster is the car parking situation, you have to be lucky to get a space, i walk there now it`s easier. On a positive note the hospital is very clean, well sign posted and the nurse`s and admin staff are very friendly.
