My sister was discharged from Newham General Hospital, with no district nurse services at Christmas. She was catheterised with no knowledge of how to empty the bag, no extra day bags or any night bags. She was unable to care for herself, as she only has the use of one arm and confused. Unable to empty the bag and no knowledge of how to empty it, she tried to go to bed, hence the bag burst and her bed was soaked. Fear of this happening again has made her afraid of going to bed, hence she is now sleeping in a chair at night. I am disgusted at the discharge planning at this hospital.
