Since February 2012, staff and practice have changed, but I can see from your description that the way the information was provided was highly insensitive and not acceptable. Many of the staff in our unit have changed since that time and have completed specific training to improve their skills. For example, we would now routinely bring women back to meet specialist staff. These staff have significant experience in supporting women who have had this kind of loss, the information is imparted in a compassionate and informative way, tailored to meet individual needs and women are given literature which they can take to read and share with others.
