Anything else?
I was taken, by ambulance, following a 999 call to A&E. The department was quite busy. The staff coped very well and kept me reasonably well informed about the various tests they were carrying out. I was then transferred to the emergency assessment unit, put into a bed and left there until the following morning. Having been awakened at 02:00 to answer the same questions I had been asked on two prior occasions put me into a less than happy frame of mind. The more so because I had already been advised on A&E that I would be awakened at approximately 06:30 for a repeat of a blood test. Happily, the results of that test were available by approximately 08:30 and I was advised that I would be going home. I was so relieved. The place was dirty. Dust particles were falling out of the light fitting onto the bed and the floor. Although I had been on the department from 22:30 approximately, I was not offered a drink or any food whatsoever. Even the water jug and plastic cup were dirty when I arrived and was only changed at 08:00.
