"What has happened to the excellent support?"

About: York Hospital

Anything else?

I suffer from hemiplegic migraine and the specialist headache nurse here has been a godsend! Although living quite a way from the hospital she has helped me through the darkest times and brought me out the other side. Where other medical professionals have failed she has persevered and got positive results. She made me feel, for the first time ever, that someone actually understood my condition. I was able to live life again instead of just struggling through each day! Then, this Summer, in the middle of her trying to wean me off some of my medication this support was withdrawn and I was left to try and manage the symptoms that had reappeared as a result of this. I am sure I am not the only one! This service that was being offered by the specialist headache nurse was invaluable and I would have highly reccomended it! It was an example of excellent practice and would like to pass my thanks on to the headache nurse for everything she did for me ( I only wish this service could have been continued).
