"Brilliant labour / Really let down with after care"

About: Torbay Hospital

Anything else?

I had a very good experience with my midwife during labour she was friendly, very supportive and hard at the times I needed her to be I would highly recommend her, However I suffer from an anxiety disorder and panic attacks and felt really let down with the after care I couldn't get out of my bed and needed help but I wasn't given any help to have a shower so got told I have to have a bed wash which led me to get a nasty infection my daughter was left across the room which I couldn't get to her when I finally went downstairs after 6 hours of extreme anxiety, a nurse then came and told me where I can get my breakfast which again left me upset because I couldn't get out of bed finally a kind nurse came along and brought me some breakfast she was the only kind one I had thw whole day but never got to see her the other staff were rude I was left with my new baby who wasn't fed for hours as no one helped me breast feed again till the nice nurse came along! My family had to help me to the loo on their visits. Finally the evening was coming closer and after over 24 hours with no sleep I couldn't wait to go home only to be told I wasn't allowed because of anxiety ect, but in this time no one had come to see me or asked why I was anxious I don't like hospitals at the best of times let alone staying in one luckily my family fought for me to go home and I couldn't wait to leave I think next time I will be having my baby at home plus the toilets look like they never get cleaned im sorry for this review but I fet very let down by the after staff my midwife however was amazing brilliant at her job and a very supportive woman so thank you x
