Anything else?
My husband was not treated with respect and was treated as if he was in the way. Communication was very poor. The midwives and doctors did not communicate with me. I was only checked once to see how dilated I was and that was early on in labour. My baby's heart rate kept on dropping and the doctors were not even doing anything about it until it got so late it became an emergency. Doctors told off midwife for pulling the emergency bell and the midwife turned to my husband and said what should I do. My baby's heart rate got to 30 before they did anything. I know that basic life support in children starts when their heart rate drops to 60 so I was prettified but still no communication from staff to myself or husband. I was on gas and air which was not working so asked early on to have an epidural. However no anaesthetists available. The doctor put a vaccum on baby's head without telling me and did not discuss the potential effects of doing this (not even after labour). They have me an episiotomy without my consent or any pain relief at which point I told the doctor to get off twice. The doctor didn't even say I'm going to cut you or anything. The hospital got by blood group wrong it was a good thing that they decided not to transfuse when I haemorraged postpartum. The only thing that was good was when I was on the ward they looked after me well. But I would say go anywhere but here.
"Don't be treated here episotomy without..."
