"Help for an 82year old bleeding"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

(as a friend),

In the early hours of this morning (Sunday) my neighbour called me because he was bleeding from an infected operation wound and he couldn't stop the bleed - and I couldn't either. I know he is taking Warfarin which stops clotting. From the moment I called 999 your organisation's response could not have been bettered.

My initial conversation led to the arrival of the paramedic within 10 minutes and her treatment, explanation and advice on the way forward was excellent. The reassurance she and her colleague gave my neighbour was very much appreciated by him.

Dear Eunice

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I hope your neighbour is feeling much better and is making a speedy recovery.

It is always rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide the best care to our patients when they need us most.

I would like to be able to pass your kind comments on to the ambulance crew who attended to your neighbour. In order to do this I will need a little more information regarding when and where the ambulance attended. Please could you contact me, at your convenience, on 01392 453831 or email laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk.

Thank you again for sharing your story.

Laura
