"midwives undertrained"

About: North Middlesex Hospital

Anything else?

I went to hospital for the delivery of my first baby on 8/12/2013 , at 9 pm after having induction earlier on the day. My labour pain started at 10 pm and was worse as time passes. the midwife just came for few mins every hourly and i was in really really bad pain i was told the pain tends to be like that. I was screaming and shouting but i was left alone with my husband with no support. I thought i was going to die . at 4 pm two midwives tried to break water with no success then only Doctor was called and as soon as Doctor came and check she realised that it was a breech and and in a min was taken to emergency c-section . i suffered all that pain whilst i and my baby was put on risk due to inexperienced midwives who even did not realise and found out about the breech and i had to suffer hours and hours of pain .On top later i found out my baby's bump was all scratched while midwives tried to break water. Till now I cry while thinking about the pain my baby had when he was inside me. Now i cannot even think about having another baby because of this experience. Please make sure that midwives are fully trained and know what they are doing, so other mother's to be do not have to suffer and nobody is put on risk. But I really appreciate the new building made for maternity unit. But there should be staff as good as the building and the services. this should not happen at all. thank god my baby is doing well now
