"Huge contrast in treatment for my mum in 2 different hospitals"

My mum was taken by ambulance over 3 weeks ago and after waiting for nearly 2 hrs was eventually seen by a nurse and her blood was taken (not a word was said). I kept asking what was happening to be told they were busy. Eventually she was admitted to ward 50 with a sugar reading of 22.59 (She is a diabetic). For the last years they have sent her for numerous scans and she's been seen by numerous consultants as they said she had stenosis of the spine. I went to visit her (now in ward 30) as I had received a call 2 say she had fallen out of bed as she forgot she had a colostomy bag in.

The apparent verbal abuse she took from 2 particular nurses over this had me so angry I reported them and was told it would be sorted. Trust me anyone that knows me knows I would have sorted it my way. Eventually after all this they said she was to go to rehab to build up her muscles in her legs and to give her some confidence back.

Again I explained there was no way we could get there as we stay in Kirky. 1 wee therapist when I phoned her within an hr has a bed in ward b Stobhill for her (She was a superstar).

The nurses in Stobhill Ward B Jane and senior nurse Annalise and all the other nurses and especially Margaret Crainie physio have been amazing real angels who deserve that title. But the most important event that happened: my mum does not have stenosis of the spine but Parkinsons, which can be controlled, and the difference is amazing. It seems her own doctor may have had her oversedated for nearly 2 years. Stobhill binned them all and she is 100% better.

She is still in but getting better and better and hopefully will be home soon.

So in my opinion Stobhill Ward B all you girls, cleaners, tea ladies and all the nurses can show the rest how it’s done. I think the staff I met at the Royal they should be ashamed of themselves.
