My wife had bowel cancer 9 years ago,and was showing symptoms of it having returned, nausea and inability to eat.The care we received, in particular from a fantastic doctor was unbelievably good.His manner was sympathetic and reassuring ( within the bounds of reality),and his questioning , and moreover listening to us,gave us great faith in his ability to care best for her. He coordinated with the specialist department,involving us, agreeing the best course of care to our complete satisfaction.He even followed up later to ensure best progress,unbelievable,and more than we can rightfully expect of a busy,hardworked unit,caring for a lot of patients.Awesome.We cannot praise him highly enough. There was a minor issue with cleanliness in the unit toilet - which was attended to immediately when reported to reception, and you can't expect better than that,ever.Things happen, particularly in that environment,so it shouldn't be judged on a momentary snapshot, but the speed of correction which was unbeatable. Very,very satisfied users of a brilliant NHS service.
