"terrible treatment"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

Anything else?

my daughter was went to the a&e department on 20 december as her doctor had sent her, the treatment was worst i ever witnessed. We sat in a room the doctor took all usual obs, her temp was high , heart was racing and was in a lot of pain , after been there hours they decided she needed a m r i scan, which took hours, when we got the results at 10 pm at night the consultant and radiologist had gone home so a junior took a look, by this time they had taken 5 lots of blood tests of which 2 lots had already been done but the shift had changed and read notes right, there was blood in the room and packets of needles left on the side, after 11 hours and 55 mins of my daughter just sitting in a chair at which point she had passed out due to high temp she was given her first paracetomol and told we would have to go to cdu ward as hospital would be fined, when we got there there was no bedding on bed, we where only there for her blood teat results that should have taken half hour.2 hours later we coursed such a stink that they went and got them, she then went to ward 102 sat till 3.45pm till she got a bed and was told sshe had to have ultr sound scan , she was put on a drip, by visiting time on the saturday she had still not had it and by 4 pm we complained again, she had now not had anything to eat or drink only water for15 hours, we spent a further 2 hours waitng to find out about her scan only to be told one they had forgot about her and tothey did not scan on a saturday , so by now she was feeling worse than ever one with pain and to with hunger for which there was no need to make her go so long with out so she told the doctor she was going home , at least there she could eat and drink, we did let it known that we would be complaining and amazingly when she went back in on the sunday morning she only waited 3 hours for her scan, after which she decided to go home with antibiotics although the doctor wanted her to stay in as temp was high, she had another to bags of antibiotics and went home , she said she would take her chances at home, at least she would get good care and food and drink. all i can say god help the elderly left to be cared for at this hospital at this rate it will be another stafford hospital. it seems to me the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing , which is quite scary when we put our trust in them to take care of us.
