I researched walk in centres before leaving - the first I was unable to find and the serving only opened at 10am, I was directed to Basildon Hospital. What a fantastic place - triaged immediately on walking in (you don't even see a receptionist first) the staff were absolutely lovely. The GP in triage said he'd re-dress my wound immediately - quickly filled a firm in and handed to the receptionist then the Doctor was calling me in to change the dressing and also prescribed me antibiotics. Added bonus was that parking was free as I was there less than 30 minutes. The parking was also just outside of A&E rather than walking half a mile to get there. Thank you to all I saw today - was back with my family for Boxing day in no time.
