I had a metal plate fitted in my left knee some 16 years ago to prolong the life of the knee joint already affected by Osteoarthritis.
Earlier this year I had the right knee joint replaced successfully, but the left needed the metalwork removing before a replacement joint can be fitted.
I went in the day case unit Ward D5 at Stepping Hill Hospital Stockport, where I received fantastic treatment from the staff on D5, and also the theatre and recovery nurses. Everyone was reassuring and professional and did their utmost to make the experience as easy as possible. I am now looking forward to my knee replacement in 6 months.
Thank you all for your care and professionalism.
