"Total disrespect"

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital

Anything else?

After trying to take my own life and becoming very ill needing to be transferred to HDU then step down I was made to feel that I was the lowest of the low with no respect to how low I was already feeling I try to tell the staff that I didn't feel my catherer was fitted as I had a bad urge to wee was told that yes it is working correctly just wee and the staff left me to it when I did wee it wasn't connected properly resulting in me wetting the bed Later I was transferred to step down unit to witness staff slateing other staff I then told staff I have a pain in my chest which I think in my Asthma as I was coughing large amounts of green coloured phelmgh to be issued with one tissue and an ECG was left in pain for roughly six hours before been visited by a doctor whom I told this too and he asked me if I had my inhaler with me I told him no so he said he would get one for me four hours later I still didn't receive one he also never even listened to me chest The doctor said I was medically well enough to leave but he would like me to see the crisis team to talk through my mental health so I agreed and he said all cathertas canulas etc could be removed When my husband mentioned this to her she said she would do it when my visitors had gone but the crisis team wouldn't be available for 4 hours so I agreed to this When my visitors left she only removed my Cather My husband came back again in the evening to see me still with both canulas in to which I told him I have felt like this all day just been ignored I have now signed myself out and will visit with my gp to see if Ido have a chest infection These people are supposed to be in their jobs because they having a caring nature obviously not where mental health is involved and we wonder why there is such a stigma around this illness
