"Fractured leg, for 3 weeks"

About: West Middlesex University Hospital

Anything else?

My son had an accident at work which resulted in multiple fractures of both legs. He was put on nil by mouth for 3 days with only a sandwich to eat and the sticky plaster op being carried out on the 3rd day. The care in the first ward was appalling. After having 1 leg plastered to the thigh and the other with an external fixator, he was told that he had to go to St. Marys for Surgery 3 weeks after the operation he is still waiting. On the first ward after the fixator op he was left begging and crying for pain relief which only arrived when a visitor strongly objected to his treatment. One Doctor said there was a 3 week window for this surgery another said there was not. There was some confusion over which hospital he was to be transferred to with St. Marys saying they were sending him to the Royal London. St. Marys have now given him a slot for an operation on Monday 23rd Dec, only surprise surprise, they have no beds. He cannot wait to escape this place.
