We were receiving very limited support at home and school for our son who had previously been diagnosed with ASD and ADHD when he was 5 (although this had been suspected by ourselves and medical professionals from the age of 2).
Even with a diagnosis, we received very little support and day to day family life was very, very tough for ourselves and a younger son.
Our school nurse got involved, initially due to continence issues. However she saw our situation and gladly facilitated appropriate assistance at both school and home by drawing up a CAF. She acted as our lead professional and got the necessary agencies involved which means that the help at school is much better and tailored for our son's requirements.
We feel also much more supported and are now receiving short break respite.
"Excellent support service for our son, now aged 7"
