What I liked
My mother had a right hip replacement on 17th July and was in I-6.We had to come back today because she suffered unusual pain, which thankfully does not seem to be anything serious.
I have also had to have tests myself in the last fortnight because of a sudden urological problem.
I am grateful for the speed with which we have been seen.
What could be improved
One of the nurses in I-6 seemed to be in the wrong job;because my mother is rather deaf he was impatient and also sneezed over her.
The waste bins clang shut when nurses take their foot off;not conducive to restful sleep.I felt like sticking chewing gum inside to dampen the sound.
Outpatients C is rather cold, especially for an elderly person waiting several hours.Piped television and music is a waste of money, even if it only costs a pound a week, when people are denied cancer drugs. If you don't like what's on it adds to the stress:I received a rebuke once for turning off the TV when people were arguing on the Jeremy Kyle show at 9-00 a.m.As with the awful music in shops, mostly it seems to be for the benefit of staff.
There were the remains of a rat or mouse 20 yards left of the main entrance today, with flies on.
Why do you have signs saying there is no smoking in the grounds when it is patently untrue? Either enforce it or remove them.
