"Cat bite"

About: Epsom Hospital

Anything else?

After a very deep cat bite on a Friday evening,by Sunday my hand was very hot/red and swollen.I decided to visit A&E Epsom where I was seen by a nurse in 2 hours. The unit didn't seem that busy so goodness know what happens when it is.There were lots of mess on the floor and torn magazines on tables littered with used paper cups and drink cans The nurse was very professional and organized an x ray for possible remains of cats teeth. The hand was disinfected and bandaged along with being prescribed antibiotics. The treatment area was clean and I was on my way within 45 minutes. I'm very happy with my care but such a shame about the wait and condition of waiting room area.

Thank you so much for your feedback and we are glad you were very happy with the attentive and professional help you received. It seems we need to try a bit harder keeping the waiting area tidy and maybe we can put up some signs asking patients to make use of the bins provided for their empty cups and cans. Your feedback will be passed on. We hope your hand is on the mend! Dr Ruth Charlton Joint Medical Director
