Listening event at Highbury today below is a conversation with staff on Rowan 1:
We struggle with staff sickness and people leaving so we can't give time that we would like to. However, the team works well together.
The main issue we have is the staffing. We get good feedback from patients and verbally we get a lot of feedback from carers or even cards syaing thank you.
We try really hard to do recovery focussed work, but as we struggle with staff levels it's really difficult to organise this. Staff are human at the end of the day and we try to avoid the 'them and us' mentality.
Staffing is something out of the wards control and a lack of staff has made it quite dangerous. If there’s an incident and you are relying on support from other wards, if they’re short staffed too, it’s not safe.
