Dear All,
The last two and a half years have been incredibly difficult for our family: we have worked tirelessly to support 'A' through many injustices and poor management of his situation. We have been the first to speak out to echo 'A’s' voice when it has been ignored; we have always sought to protect him from further harm when he has been at his most vulnerable.
Always prepared to speak up when all in 'A’s' world is wrong, we feel compelled to write and express our gratitude to all members of 'A’s' care team- especially at this time of year.
You will all know the extent of 'A’s' progress- and we thank you for giving him care, compassion, purpose and hope for the future. You have enabled him to come back to us. For the first time since May 2011, his Mum and I can sleep at night knowing that whatever challenges he faces, he’s at least safe.
Being of a nursing background myself, I appreciate more than most the sacrifices you make in being away your own families at Christmas, to care for a very valuable member of ours. We miss 'A' every day- and at Christmas his absence from our table is so much harder.
So a very Merry Christmas to you all- we look forward to working alongside you in the New Year as we continue to support A, grow in strength as a family and fight for the justice he so deserves.
Our very best wishes,
'A’s' Sister & Mum
