Anything else?
Monday 16th Dec saw me bring my elderly father to an Urology outpatients appointment, how pleasing that the clinic ran to time, the doctor was very caring with my Dad who is quite confused but more importantly the doctor had time to explain to me what he thought was the best plan for Dad. A CT Scan was decided on and l was directed by the helpful nurse which was the shortest route to that department. One third of the way there Dad was too weak to go any further so l sat him on a nearby chair whilst ran to the CT reception. I asked if this could be done today as another trip to hospital was tiring for Dad and inconvenient for me; after consulting colleagues the helpful receptionists said yes it could be done. Now my next problem, how did l get Dad all the way there? The receptionist arranged for a porter to bring Dad in a wheelchair - what a lovely man he was - joking with Dad and putting him at ease. The staff in the CT department were gentle with Dad and took time to explain everything to him (such a shame he had forgotten by the time we got home!) but l appreciated their care. So although a long visit to the hospital nothing more could have been done to make things better..... A big big thank you to all the staff...
