Anything else?
Induced labour on a Friday. Went rapidly into established labour - then told no beds on labour ward... Left on antenatal ward for 7 hours with no midwife, no monitoring, and no pain relief with 5 other ladies in similar position and sharing one bathroom between us. Labour ward was fine and excellent midwife there when we finally made it, however postnatal care was dreadful. Drug errors which could have been catastrophic (tried to give me heparin 3 times in one shift post-surgery). No help with breastfeeding. Private room (paid for at a premium) was over 30 degrees with no air conditioning or external window. I was made to feel like I was troubling the staff for asking for more than paracetamol one day after an emergency C-section. Pharmacy prescription delayed discharge by more than 6 hours and again was incorrect - allergies not noted and inappropriate medication prescribed (could have been dangerous). Post natal care at home was good. Complaint made to hospital and I received a verbal apology however I would not recommend care here - they need better facilities and more staff.
