I am so fortunate to live near Sunderland Eye Infirmary. I attended A & E with symptoms of floaters and flashing lights. I was seen immediately by the triage nurse, then the nurse practitioner, who after examining me, identified a possible tear in my retina. After being examined by the doctor and consultant who advised I needed laser surgery, I returned later the same day for treatment. On a subsequent visit I was again seen speedily and efficiently, despite it being Sunday. I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism of all staff concerned. I was kept informed throughout my visit and treated with respect and in a caring, friendly manner. I would like to thank all concerned. I really appreciate everything you did for me - you are a credit to the NHS.
