"This is about people and lives "

About: North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

Since the changes in the service this year it's like the recovery teams can't wait to get rid of patients. I am told it's because they want people to recover and live without professional support but it feels more about cut backs and saving money.

They can't understand that some people need longer support and it's not a case of discharging people and hoping they will survive. This is about people and lives and shouldn't be about saving money where you can. Everything now seems time limited and it's not realistic to expect people to suddenly recover or be ready to be discharged after a certain amount of time.

This might work for some for less severe cases who need a short amount of therapy but not for long term problems or people with serious ongoing issues.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments.

The changes in services are designed to ensure that people receive the care they need from the most appropriate source, they are not about saving money.

I would welcome the opportunity of looking into this matter for you but need more information, such as the area where you were receiving services from. Please contact me either by telephone on (01925) 664450 or email dennis.dewar@5bp.nhs.uk
