My mums partner sadly died on Poplar ward at SEPT St Margaret's Community Hospital last night. The care delivered by the nursing staff throughout his stay was fantastic.
The CNO asks nurses to be the 6C's - caring, compassionate, committed, competent, have courage and be good communicators. I was only a witness to his care yesterday although he was on Poplar ward for 3 weeks. The care I witnessed demonstrated all 6C's from the nursing staff.
Leadership is so important too and Elaine Pearson the ward sister was amazing, a credit to the profession. She fought to get my mums partner to have a good death, which he did, thanks to the nursing staff.
Thank you so much.
