"Thank you to all"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as the patient),

I returned from a holiday in September feeling unwell. On arrival home the wife made an appointment to see my GP. This was done at 6.45pm and half an hour later I was at A and E with a letter from the GP.

By 4am the next day I was in AMU where it was found that I had legionnaires. I was then transferred to 117 and just when I thought in myself I was getting better found myself on Critical care where the lights went out for 2 1/2 weeks.

The next thing I knew I was in a bed on pod 3 of the HD unit just across from the Cc room I had spent the last fortnight, then after a short stay it was moving time again first to SSC1 then SSC2 then back to 117,

I have nothing but praise for all the staff that looked after me and my family cant say enough about the staff and the care they provided whilst I was out of it.

The only problems I see at the hospital are the diabolic parking facilities, Why build a super facility for such a huge catchment area then fail to provide adequate parking with now extortionate charges.

I have to visit outpatient clinics. I cannot say how long I will be there so I pay for more time than I need. Do I get a refund for the time not used? No. Someone is making a load of money.

Dear Legionnaire Thank you for your comments. We are glad that you felt well cared for during the time you spent at our hospital and that your family felt the same. We are however sorry to hear about your frustrations with the parking facilities at UHNS. If you feel you would like to talk to someone about this in more detail, please contact the Communications team: communications@uhns.nhs.uk and we will forward your comments to the parking manager.
