"Long waits to be seen in eye follow-up clinic"

About: Scunthorpe General Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as a relative),

Appointments for a simple follow-up checkup keep everyone waiting for 2 hours or longer.

I feel the administration and management of this department is poor. Appointments are regularly changed, often several times so several letters are sent to cancel and then make a new appointment = additional costs to the NHS. Waiting room is not available so everyone sits in the corridor and staff shout down the corridor when you are next.

Too many appointments seem to be scheduled at the same time of day when there is no way all those people can be seen at that time, hence the two hour wait.
