Anything else?
- There was no-one to discuss with me to confirm what procedures were performed during the arthroscopy, or in particular, whether there was anything carried out in addition to or instead of what was planned beforehand. - As an extension of the previous point, I was not informed that I had been given stitches (as I understand, this is not usual for 'keyhole' surgery) until the day following discharge when I removed the bandaging. Again, no advice was given as to what kind of stitches they were etc. - I made it be known to as many of the staff who dealt with me as possible that I am breastfeeding. Upon discharge I was sent away with Tramadol and Celecoxib. These drugs are not compatible with breastfeeding. - Before I was discharged on the 2nd December I was told that there would be a follow-up appointment booked for me for 2 weeks time. I'm still waiting for a letter regarding this appointment. This is of particular concern to me as I am still badly bruised and swollen (not helped by the lack of pain relief and anti-inflammatory drugs), and this will invariably hinder my recovery and rehabilitation. I contacted the ward but it appears that something has gone awry, and I'm still awaiting an explanation by way of a return phonecall. By Monday it will be 2 weeks since having been given the stitches, so I had to have my stitches removed at my local GP surgery. I feel I've been neglected.
