"Way to ruin Christmas NHS"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

My Mother has been waiting for an operation since around April this year, she sinfally got a date for her operation to be carried out 2 weeks a go, after getting to the hospital for 07:15, being prepared for theatre and taken down at 08:30 my mother was then told there was no bed available for her so the operation was cancelled.. A new appointment was then sent through showing that the operation will now be done on Christmas Eve. Due to the nature of the operation this mean that my mother will be unable to eat and will have to stay in hospital over the Christmas period thus ruining Christmas for the family. Surely the date and type of operation would have been concidered before being agreed. Once again thank you for messing up Christmas NHS

Dear reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. We're sorry that your mother's operation was cancelled, but unfortunately we've recently received high numbers of unexpected emergency admissions. If you would like to discuss your concerns about the new date for the operation, please feel free to contact Nicola Grant, lead nurse, by emailing Nicola.Grant@uhl-tr.nhs.uk. Kind regards, Communications team, Leicester's Hospitals
