"You could do with extra lifts"

About: Derriford Hospital

Anything else?

I have not stayed at the hospital , but have been visiting an aunt over the past few weeks. I was surprised to find patients being transported in the visitors lifts. No wonder you are having to close wards because of infections, this is not good hygiene practice. Surely they should be using the 2 which are not for public use. Also the staff use the lifts for moving trollies and other things, taking up space when visitors are trying to get to friends and relations. Dont you have a separate lift for this.? I visit on public transport and live at the other side of town, so have to catch 2 buses to go to and fro. when you are trying to juggle bus times with visiting its not easy if you have to wait ages for lifts with patients and equipment in. I also tried to get some information about my Aunt, but as it was change over time, no easy to see someone to get this. Also l dont like the doctors wearing their own clothes plus nurses coming and going to work in their uniforms. Hygiene!

Dear Wendy

I have received information from our Estates team regarding the subject of lift provision at the Trust. The response is quite lengthy; please could you let me know if you have a contact e-mail address where I can forward more information to you?

I can be contacted via the PALS inbox at plh-tr.PALS@nhs.net

I look forward to hearing from you again.

Kind regards

Mary
