"Pain to left knee"

About: NHS Western Isles

(as the patient),

Saw GP re pain behind and in left knee who ordered an ultrasound which was done. When I further complained about pain and instability in the knee and asked where we go from here the GP shrugged their shoulders and said they didn't know. I then told the GP I would go to a private surgeon for further investigations, again shrugged and did not say anything at all, I left the surgery and will not return.

Please note that I am a retired nurse and have years of experience in orthopaedics.

Dear rog58,

I'm sorry that you felt ignored by your GP. Whilst I understand that you would not wish to return to the surgery it is important that you let the surgery know how you feel so that they can look at ways in which they can improve services.

Yours
