I arrived at Tameside in the early hours of the morning around 3-4 cm dilated for the birth of my second child, unfortunately within about 20 minutes of arriving my babies heart rate was dangerously low and I had to be rushed in for a c-section by GA.
After having had a previous emergency section with my first this was what I had been dreading and it was a scary situation. However all the staff concerned were amazing, they were efficient and caring and my baby was born safe and well.
The after care was excellent, all the midwives and staff on the ward were lovely, very caring and couldn't do enough to make me feel comfortable and looked after. I know Tameside gets a bad reputation and I have also previously had poor experiences there but I think the maternity ward is excellent. I couldn't fault them on either of my two births, and I've had two difficult births and they really were fantastic on every level.
One of my midwives was Karen and if I could remember the others I would gladly have named them all.
"Excellent maternity care"
