"Cod liver oil for arthritis"

I am 67 years old, and arthritis began in me approximately 30 years ago. At first, I was prescribed anti inflammatory drugs to be taken on a regular basis. Some proved to have adverse affects, so my doctor changed them.

After 10 years or so, these drugs stopped working - my doctor changed them again and so it went. One day, I read an article about Cod Liver Oil and its uses, with a testimonial by the actor Johnny Briggs (Mike Baldwin in Coronation St. ). Apparently, one table-spoonful of cod liver oil per day kept his arthritis at bay. He also took 1 x 75mg aspirin per day to thin the blood.

I tried this instead of the anti inflammatory drugs and I've been taking them both ever since. Anti inflammatory drugs are now frowned upon by GP's because of their side effects.

I found cod liver oil better than any of the drugs I'd taken before. Aspirin must never be taken if you are allergic to it.
