"Gynaecology Day Case Ward"

About: Arrowe Park Hospital

Anything else?

My GP referred me to the gynae team here in August. I have been very impressed with the whole service. I had my initial consultation in Sept where I felt all my concerns where discussed and I was given all the options to consider. It was agreed I should have a laporoscopy and was given a date for this before I left the clinic. I recently had the procedure on the day case ward and could not fault the care and attention I received from everyone involved. All the staff who dealth with me from the receptionist who greeted me to the porter wheeling me back from theatre and all the nurses and doctors behaved in a competant, confident manner and I felt reassured I was in good hands. It is the simple things that often make a huge difference and my abiding memory is coming round from the procedure in a lot of pain. When I told the staff someone, and I wish I knew who as they deserve a bit box of chocolates, placed a warm blanket across my tummy. The comfort, relief and reassurance I felt is beyond words. Simple I know but it's not just the technology and infection rates that matter. I am recovering at home at the moment and need further surgery. Once again the efficiency of this department has shone through - I had my surgery on Thursday and received a letter on Monday with my next appointment to see the consultant - outstanding.
