"I was rushed into hospital on ..."

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was rushed into hospital on Xmas Day 2007 with a heart attack and spent 12 days in the cardiac care unit. From arriving at casualty until leaving hospital 12 days later,I can only say that the treatment that I received was second to none.I was treated more like a guest than a patient both on CCU and the cardiac day unit before my discharge. On a second visit for a second coronary procedure I received the same care and courtesy as before.I have since attended the Urology department for both examination and treatment and again cannot fault the care given to me on each occasion

What could be improved

The cleaning staff need to be supervised and in many cases instructed how to use a brush.Apparently corners do not exist in wards and underneath a bed is a prohibited area.On my last visit only this week I watched a cleaner vacuum the middle of a room and totally ignore the dirt under the chairs.I cannot see the point of all the posters about BUGS that adorn the walls for the benefit of staff, patients and visitors when the main problem seems to be in house.
