"My little brother could not have had better..."

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary

Anything else?

My little brother (13) was transferred from University of Durham Hospital A&E to the RVI with testicular pain and discomfort, which was then suspected to be a twisted testicle or a cyst. He had every necessary test and scan and was cared for phenomenally and was given the right pain relief. They soon decided to operate and it was the least traumatic experience he's has with 'genital issues' so far, as he's had problems in the past and we were very worried they were back. Our minds were put straight at rest and a cyst was removed quickly. He spent a comfortable night there and was discharged the morning. It's been a week since he got home and his stitches are healing well. A doctor who's shift ended just before he went into the operating room called us anxiously to check how he was and how it went. I'm so glad he's okay and was cared for well. Thank you so much everyone x

Thank you for taking the time to post a comment. We strive to provide the highest levels of care at Great North Childrens Hospital and I am pleased that you and your family had a good experience. I will pass your comments onto the Doctors and Nurses involved in your brother's care care, as it is always encouraging for them to receive such positive feedback. We hope your brother continues to make a good recovery.
